The Silwerstrand Outspan from 24–27 April 2026 was a vibrant gathering of camaraderie and joy. Friday welcomed campers with sizzling 30℃ heat, setting the stage for heartfelt catch-ups around the “gesêls-vuur,” complete with homemade soup and entertainment from Anthony and Alfreda Jacobs and their pampered four-legged companion.

Saturday brought exploration of Robertson and McGregor, followed by the lively “boerie-wrap” competition, where Eddie and Nikki emerged as winners in a spirited contest that left everyone feeling victorious.

Sunday unfolded with a mix of chapel visits, a celebratory breakfast at Tebaldi’s, and Marlene’s birthday festivities. Creativity flowed under the sheltering awning during Desireé’s “beetle game,” while the night sky dazzled those who stayed up to witness its galactic brilliance.

By Monday, campers packed up with fond memories, while the Forbes, Manuels, and Pietersen families continued their scenic journey along the R62 toward Plettenberg Bay. The weekend was a true reflection of the Trekkers Outdoor Recreation Club’s spirit—togetherness, leisure, and festive fun.
